Wanda Word Brule, age 89, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Born December 2, 1933 at Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Lester Lee Word and Stella Mary Farmin Word and graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1951.

For 38 years, Wanda worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone (AT&T), retiring in 1988. From 1989 until 2022, she worked at the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Public Library. She was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.

On February 25, 1961, she married John R. “Jack” Brule in Pine Bluff. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2005. She was also predeceased by her sister, Jeannine Word Matthews.

Survivors include her children, Jeannie Brule West (Tim) and John M. Brule, all of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Laura Neal (Sam), Katie Halford (Seth), and Quinton Brule (Kelsey); five great-grandchildren, Jack Neal, Lily Neal, Amelia Halford, Matthew Neal, Audrey Halford, and “one on the way”, Levi Brule.

Graveside services will be Monday, September 18, 2023, 10:30 a.m. in Graceland Cemetery with Brother Mike Powell officiating. Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
