Obituary

Sharon Carpenter Wardlaw, age 78, of White Hall, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021.

Born in Pine Bluff on November 17, 1942 to the late Davis Flack Carpenter and Helen Lucille Stone Carpenter, she spent her early life in Illmo, MO. She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School and attended Hendrix College and Ouachita Baptist University.

Sharon moved to Pine Bluff in 1960. She worked as a train dispatcher and clerk in the locomotive department for the Cotton Belt Railroad. She retired in 1988 at 25 years of service.

She married Larry Douglas Wardlaw on June 2, 1965, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2008.

Sharon was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday school class.

Survivors include two daughters, Tracy Trail (Danny) of White Hall and their children, Danny Trail, III (Fantasia), Tyler Trail (Shay Lynn), Nicholas Trail (Hayli), Sommer Trail, and Autumn Trail, and Terah Coffman (Phillip) and their children, Wesley Coffman (Riley), Timothy Coffman, and Colby Coffman; great-grandchildren Tyler Trail, Jr., Daniel Trail, IV, Emmarie Leigh Trail, and Zoey Francis Sharon Trail, and Tracy Mae Trail; and a brother, Davis Flack Carpenter, Jr. (Brenda).

Sharon’s funeral service will be Saturday, January 23, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Todd Howard and Tyler Trail officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Watson Chapel Baptist Church.

So sad to lose Sharon. I enjoyed knowing her so much in different groups She was a beautiful and kind lady. She will be missed by all that knew her Her family is in my thoughts and prayers
