Obituary

Orlen D. Morris, 86, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 10, 2021. Most recently he resided in an assisted living facility in Frisco, Texas, to be close to his son.
He spent over 20 years in Lincoln, California, raising his family. He was well known for his distinctive loud cheering for the Lincoln High School Zebras football and wrestling teams where his sons attended high school.
He joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War and with the Strategic Air Command during the Cold War. He was extremely passionate about his experience being a mechanic on the Boeing B52 Stratofortress and it is safe to say that anyone who knew him knew about his career with the Air Force. Orlen was a proud veteran. He retired from the Air Force after serving his country for 22 years.
After retiring from the Air Force, he worked driving armored cars for Loomis Armored Car Service and retired in 1993.
During retirement he loved to travel and fish with his wife, Mary Hood-Morris. He also enjoyed restoring old cars and wood working in his shop.
Almost on a daily basis you could find him having breakfast with his friends at Hardee’s or McDonalds.
Mr. Morris was a member of the Highway 79 South Church of Christ in Pine Bluff. He loved his church family and was always there to help those in need.
Mr. Morris was born August 16, 1934, in Dallas, Texas, a son of the late Orville Marion Morris and Ethel Marie Gage. He was a 1953 graduate of Watson Chapel High School.
He is survived by his two sons, Marty Morris of Aubrey, Texas, and Mitchell Morris of Prattsville, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Katlynn Noel Morris, Steven Joel Morris, Marty Miles Morris, Jr., Megan K. Morris, Sarah Elisabeth Morris-Bishop, Amanda Grace Romaine, Emily Kate Morris, Abigail Marie Morris, Kevin Immanuel Morris, Bobby Ray Lewis Morris; one brother, William “Dub” Morris of Pine Bluff; and two sisters, Marietta Gray of Fordyce, and Judy Watson of Bauxite.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of over 23 years, Mary Hood-Morris, whom he married in 1995 in Pine Bluff; and one great grandchild, Aspen Glenn Crocker Solis.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 17, 2021, 10:00 AM, Fuller Hale-South Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Clarence Fell officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.
