Obituary

Nancy Hyatt Berry, age 82, of Little Rock, formerly of Pine Bluff passed away Friday, April 24, 2020.

Born March 4, 1938 at Delhi, LA, she was the only child of John and Docia Hawkins, and spent her childhood at Oak Grove, LA. She was a 1956 graduate of Crossett High School.

Mrs. Berry attended medical technology school in St. Louis and later earned her associate’s degree from UAPB. She worked as a medical technologist at Jefferson Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 2001.

Nancy was a caregiver by nature. She advocated for those in need, and was committed to caring for her family. Most recently, she was the volunteer floor manager and building president of the Rinehart Building at Good Shepherd Senior Living. She took her position very seriously and always went out of her way to assist her residents.

She was a member of River Road Baptist Church at Redfield.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Vester Hyatt and Tom Berry.

Survivors include her four children, Beth Harrison (Bo) of Redfield, Patty Heird (Sammy) of Hensley, Ray Chanslor (Laura) of Ooltewah, TN, and Lisa Weeks (Mike) of East End; seven grandchildren, Nick Heird (Abby), Seth Heird (Sarah), Tyler Peters, Anna Weeks, Mary Margaret Hester, Madison Chanslor, and Ashton Johnson (Trey); and three great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service on Monday, April 27, 2020, 2:00 at Cypress Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Brother Todd Howard officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Please observe social distancing. Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

Beth, and other members of Nancy's family. This is Tom Berry's sister, Dot .I just found about Nancy and am so sad .I will miss her big personality and her laugh-Like giggle when she was excited. She could make me smile even when I didn't mean to. We had many great times together ! I will always remember Nancy as my sisster-in-law, but mostly for the way she loved her family. When she called me, I might as well have sat down. She told me about EACH one in detail. I will miss her a lit. I loved Nancy Berry.
