Archie and Terry and the rest of Jean's family, how my heart goes out to you all. Jean was such an influence on my life as a child. I so well remember always feeling welcome in their house. We would play with Archie and Terry and she was always making something for us to eat. I ate my first "Pie Crust Sticks" at her house. I thought they were the best thing I ever put in my mouth. After I was grown and had kids of my own, I always made them pie crust sticks. In turn, they have made them for their kids. It all started with Jean. I remember sitting on her porch and eating mayonnaise sandwiches. She could make any food delicious. I still eat them to this day, and they always remind me of eating those on her front porch. They would invite our family over for supper sometimes, and no one could make fried wild turkey breast like Jean Yelverton. My memories of her aren't all food related. I always noticed what a spotless clean housekeeper she was. I remember her contagious giggle. I remember how she always had her clothes in a starched and ironed appearance even after she was older. I am really sad that because of this Covid-19 that I am not going to attend her funeral. I am just too afraid to go to things like that now. Any other time, I would have definitely have gone to my sweet friend's funeral. I will always love and miss her. Archie and Terry, you'll always be a part of my life. You were both great kids to grow up with. Just know that I will pray for you. I love you both. Ann Parker
