Jerry Wayne Matlock, 73, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Matlock was born September 5, 1947, in Pine Bluff, to the late Herbert Matlock and Jo Harper Easterling. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1965 and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He also served in the National Guard and the Auxiliary Police.
He married Sharon Sasser, April 16, 1988, in Pine Bluff.
Mr. Matlock worked as a brakeman and conductor, for Union Pacific Railroad for 34 years, retiring in 2003.
He loved to fish and really enjoyed his favorite hobby, reloading and target shooting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sharon Matlock; two daughters, Amber Thompson of Watson Chapel and Jennifer Nail of Jefferson; step-son, Michael Wall of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and his sister, Teresa Stewart of White Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Sharon Smith.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
