Obituary

Jay Vincent Heird, 52, of Redfield, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2020. Jay was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved doing anything outside from fishing to frog gigging. He was an avid hunter. If you could hunt it, Jay was there. And he would always have a lively story to tell you about his adventures. He loved to entertain, including cooking out with family and friends. Jay was a hard worker, easy to be around, and had the best dance moves. He was a great provider, a wonderful husband, and an amazing father and grandfather. He is greatly loved and will be missed.

Jay was born August 31, 1967 in Pine Bluff to Larry and June Heird. Jay received his education and graduated from Sheridan High School. He worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal as an Engineering Technician. He was a member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church.
Jay was preceded in death by his mother, a brother Paul Heird, and a sister Leslie Hudson.
Survivors include his wife, Kristah Heird, whom he was with since 2001 and married March 29, 2004; daughters Jessica Dunn (Scott) of White Hall and Brittney Morris (Wesley) of Rison; a son Gabe Heird of Redfield; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his father Larry (Christy) of the Ico Community; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Orion Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Easley officiating.

I grew up knowing Jay, Leslie and Paul. They lived up the road from us on Delta Circle. Jay was the quiet one but I remember that he had the best smile. It was was one of the first things I noticed about him. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Can't believe this guy is gone! Too young and to soon. But God had plans we all can't see or know of. I can picture the homecoming when Jay stepped thru those pearly gates and was greeted by his brother, sister and mother. Wish he could have stayed a little longer with all of us. Turkey season coming up, and always enjoyed meeting up on some mountain road in Muddy Creek. No more pictures of big deer from the Arsenal sent to Doug. We will miss you Jay, much more than you ever would have realized. Roost a turkey for us up in those heavenly woods; we'll be along one day to go hunting again. God speed.
