Janet (Jackson) Lee, 61, of Abbeville, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2023.

She was born on August 25, 1961, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Charles Jackson, Sr. and Ouita Greenlee Jackson.

Janet was saved in her early teens and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

She graduated from White Hall High School in 1979.

She worked for several companies in Texas doing secretarial jobs, plus being a homemaker.

Janet had been married twice and had two children whom she loved very much.

Due to medical problems at an early age (32), Janet has been in a nursing facility for 30 years. She had been a resident of General Baptist Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Jackson, Jr., Kim Jackson; and a stepson, Melvin Lee, Jr. of Florida.

Survivors include her children, Ashley Bernard (Harold) of Abbeville, Louisiana; Joshua Lee (Crystal) of Livingston, Texas; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Bill Jackson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a sister, Doris Jackson Mason of White Hall, Arkansas.

Janet will be missed by the many people who took care of her in the nursing home for her laughter.

We will all miss her, though she is finally at peace now.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Fuller Hale South Funeral Directors.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Fuller Hale South Funeral Directors, with Reverend Charles and Stephanie Cantwell officiating.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
