Obituary

James E. Bumpas, 73, of White Hall, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Bumpas was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of the late James Elwayne and Emma Inez Prysock Keller Bumpas. He grew up in Pine Bluff, where he also received his education.
Mr. Bumpas married Alta Jo Handy on May 20, 1965. Mrs. Bumpas passed away April 16, 2018.
Mr. Bumpas was a truckdriver for W&A Manufacturing for 32 years.
During his free time, Mr. Bumpas enjoyed going to car shows and working on old cars.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Bumpas of White Hall; daughter, Jo Ann Wegner of Pine Bluff; ex daughter-in-law, Wendy Bounds of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama; three grandchildren, Ashton Yarbrough, Megan Crowder, and Allyson Bumpas; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bumpas was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Alta Jo Bumpas and a sister, Marilyn Ann McDaniel.
Funeral services will be private at a later date.
