Gerald Lawrence Fish, 95, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, December 19, 2019.
He was born August 6, 1924 in Star City, son of William Fish, Sr. and Eula Lee Hunter Fish.
Mr. Fish was reared and received his early education in Star City, graduating from Star City High School in 1942. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, Mr. Fish earned his Bachelors Degree from Monticello A&M.
He worked as an accountant for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration for 19 years and General Water Works for 18 years and taught accounting at the Fuhr School of Business for 12 years. Mr. Fish retired from the Arkansas Department of Corrections in 1989 after 12 years of service with them.
Mr. Fish was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where he taught in the Fidelis Sunday School Class. He was currently a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church and a member of the American Legion Post 1000.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Lindsey Fish; parents; brother, William A. Fish, Jr.; and three sisters, Mildred Dishongh, Ruth Hollingsworth and Diana Wardlaw.
Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie Lane Terry of Sheridan; son, Rev. Bill Lindsey Fish of Hot Springs Village; brother, Louis Fish; sister, Gwendolyn Haygood; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at Roselawn Cemetery with Reverend Steve Wingo officiating.
