Frances Woodson Sterling of Little Rock, Arkansas died November 27, 2019. She was born January 16, 1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Elmer Woodson and his wife, Dorris Triplett Smith. Frances attended St. Mary’s High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. During her career she held many positions in the Federal Government, and after retirement, she began a new career working with patients in addiction recovery. She enjoyed reading, painting, and bird watching.
In addition to her parents, a sister, Dorris Mildred Woodson Bates, daughter, Martha Lynn Sterling, and granddaughter, Scheherazade Sterling Kooshesh preceded her in death. She is survived by sister Martha Woodson Craig of Dallas, Texas; children, Laurie Sterling Myers and husband, Bobby Myers of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Philip Jerome Sterling and wife, Karen Keller Sterling of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Kathryn Sterling Herrmann and husband, Robert Herrmann of Hendersonville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Stuart Myers, Shoreh Kooshesh Irani, Pari Kooshesh, Ari Kooshesh, Cory Sterling, Ashley Sterling, Barbara Herrmann McInerney, and Grayson Herrmann; along with seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Fuller Hale South Funeral Services, and a service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery in Pine Bluff with her parents and daughter. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Arkansas Children's Foundation, Post Office Box 2222,
