Obituary for Emmett Glynn "Buff" Buffington

Emmett Glynn “Buff” Buffington, 70 of Pine Bluff, was a great storyteller who loved turkey hunting and his family.

He passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at home.

Mr. Buffington was born February 11, 1953, in Springhill, Louisiana, son of Emmett Thomas Buffington and Lillian Smith Buffington. He moved to Pine Bluff at four years old and graduated from Watson Chapel High School in 1971.
Buff began working for International Paper in Pine Bluff in 1973.  He worked at International Paper and Evergreen Packaging for over 42 years, retiring as a paper maker, retiring in 2016.

He had a true passion for hunting, particularly turkey hunting.  Buff was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and hunted in different places in Arkansas and Missouri.

Buff was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Boyd; son, Nathan Boyd (Amy) of Pine Bluff; daughter, Amy Greening (Heath) of Rison; brother, Thomas Buffington (Jeanne) of Bastrop, Louisiana; sisters, Jean Flynn (Ronnie) of Heber Springs, Alice Rabb (Roth) of Rison and Becky Dean (Paul) of Shongaloo, Louisiana; grandchildren, Audrey Miller, Brian Boyd, Ashley Boyd and Sophie Greening.

A reception will be from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
