Obituary

Flossie Elmalene Moltz, age 89, of Sheridan, passed away Tuesday April 28, 2020.

Born January 28, 1931 at the Double Wells community in Jefferson County, she was a daughter of the late Glaucus Lawrence and Elah Robertson Lawrence. She received her early education at Grapevine and graduated from White Hall High School in 1949.

Mrs. Moltz worked for several business over the years, including the Pine Bluff Commercial, Pinecrest Cotton Mill, and Pine Bluff Industries. She retired as a bobbin winder at Camden Wire.

She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Always ready with a joke or a kind word, she never met a stranger.

She married Melvin Andrews on July 6, 1950, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1981. She was also predeceased by seven siblings.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Moltz, whom she married on June 24, 1999; six children, Cathy Alverson (Sammy), Karen Causey (Wayne), Stephen Andrews (Beth), Ronnie Andrews (Kathy), Tracy Gorman, and David Andrews (Sara); 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; three step-children, Robert Moltz (Martha), Diane Ashcraft (Kenny), and Melba Funderburg (Gary); three siblings, Annette Beatty (Winford), Almeda Corder, and Larry Lawrence (Donna); seven step-grandchildren and a number of step-great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 concerns, the family will have a private service on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Lee Cemetery with Brother Doney Blackerby officiating.
