Doris Maxine Stroble Earnest, 87, of Pine Bluff, passed away, Sunday, December 8, 2019. She was born December 22, 1931 in Jefferson County to the late Adolf “Boots” Stroble and Eva Rauls Stroble.

Before retirement, Doris had worked in the International Paper chemical laboratory. She was a member of White Hall First Baptist Church and the White Hall Garden Club. She was an avid gardener, growing beautiful flowers that gave her tremendous joy. She was also an expert seamstress.

Also preceding her in death was her husband of 58 years, Eugene “Paul” Earnest, whom she married May 1, 1948, and who preceded her in death December 3, 2005; one brother, Ed “Bo” Stroble; and two sisters, Josephine “Jo” Hankins and Bernice Hurst.

Doris is survived by two sons, Eugene Earnest (Glenda) and Bobby Earnest (Melissa); one daughter, Paula Dailey (John); one sister, Selma James; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 10, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Bellwood Annex Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday and 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank Arkansas Hospice and Trinity Village Medical Center for their loving care of Mrs. Earnest.
