Obituary

Billy Clyde Woods, age 82 of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday August 8, 2020 at his home. He was born September 4, 1937 in Crossett, AR. He was the son of the late Clyde Woods and Jaime Woods.
In addition to his parents, his great granddaughter Nora June Henderson also preceded Billy in death.

Billy is survived by his loving wife Sue Woods of Pine Bluff, two daughters, Cindy Henderson, son in law Spencer Henderson both of Pine Bluff, Rebecca Thomasson(Lance) of El Dorado, two grandsons, Trace Henderson(Ashley) of Little Rock, Hunter Thomasson(Anna) of El Dorado, a granddaughter, Caitlin Henderson(fiancé Brett Bradshaw) of Bryant, 3 great grandsons, Cash Pierce, Jack & Lincoln Henderson, a brother and sister in law Sonny and Sarah Harris of Pensacola, FL, his special niece Stacey Balka(Matt) and great nieces, Lucy & Maggie Balka.

Billy was reared and educated in Crossett, AR graduating from Crossett High School in 1956. After High School, he went to work at the Crossett paper mill. He moved to Pine Bluff, AR to work for International Paper when it opened in 1958. He retired in 1998 after 40 years of dedicated and loyal service. Billy served many years with the Southeast Arkansas Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the International Paper Retiree Club and the Quarter Century Club.

The simplicity of a man’s heart is demonstrated by the way he loves his family; it is pure and comes straight from the heart of God. Billy Woods was that simple man. A man of very few words, but the love he had for God, his family and friends spoke “loudly” through the testimony of his life. To him each one of them were “precious” and he never failed to let them know that.
Billy shared his days with friends drinking coffee at McDonalds, walking in the mall or going to the Flea Market. He loved his home and his yard. But most of all he loved the time he had with his wife Sue. They had over 56 years of a wonderful life together. Sharing their beautiful daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

As Billy left this earthly life for his eternal home, his loving family surrounded him. They will always cherish the Pillar of Love and the Foundation of Faith that he left for each one of them.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Paul Davis, Dr. Debasis Das and Dr. Ahmer Kashif. Also, his private nurse and friend Joyce Watson.

Visitation will be 4-6 pm Monday at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Home, Pine Bluff.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Graceland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes March of Dimes, Donation Processing Center, P.O. Box 18819, Atlanta, GA 31126
